CAMPUS STAFF TAKE PART IN BIG TEES HOMELESS SLEEP OUT!
17 May 2016
Neil Evans, Melanie Graham, Matthew Cooke and Simon Virth took part in a homeless sleep out and raised £758.00 for the Middlesbrough and Teesside Philanthropic Foundation.

The Middlesbrough and Teesside Philanthropic Foundation homeless sleep out raises awareness locally of homelessness and raises much needed cash for local services.  Neil, Mel, Matthew and Simon spent the night tucked up in sleeping bags outside Middlesbrough College to assist in raising these much needed funds.  Simon says “Whilst it did get cold and the rain  was coming down pretty hard at 4am, it was only for one night and we were quite cushioned from the real experience of homelessness having access to the college toilets and hot drinks throughout the night.  We also had each other’s company and those of the other participants.  For those unfortunate enough to experience homelessness and rough sleeping, you can only imagine how frightening, miserable and isolating from society the experience of homelessness must be.  It is something as a society we should not accept”.  The Big Tees Sleep out raised an estimated £8000.00 which will guarantee to make a big difference in helping people across the local region.
